An 18-year-old girl died in an accident on the Oreshak - Troyan road, the spokesperson for the regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Lovech told BTA.
The accident occurred this night at around 1 am on the road from Oreshak in the direction of Troyan.
A car on a straight section went off the road and hit a reinforced concrete pole, after which it overturned.
The 18-year-old driver died on the spot. Three passengers were injured. A 22-year-old was taken to the Troyan hospital, and a 17-year-old was transported to a medical facility in Pleven.
A 22-year-old young man was released for home treatment.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the case. The causes of the incident are being clarified.
The accident once again raises the question of how prepared young drivers are to drive at night. The second question is whether they take into account the road surface.
