From what we saw today and the information we read about the alleged new owner of "Lukoil", it is clear that once again the film will turn out to be Soviet, not Swedish.
This was told to the Bulgarian National Radio by PP-DB MP Radoslav Ribarski, deputy chairman of the parliamentary energy committee.
"The company "Gunvor" is not known in our region, which is an occasion to ask how it will manage to cope with the specifics of the region and the logistics for fuel delivery and their processing. It was seen that the company, even during the imposition of sanctions on Gennady Timchenko (founder of "Gunvor", close to Putin), was mentioned that there was suspicion of Vladimir Putin's direct involvement in this company.
At least this puts an end to the speculation that excited everyone, he added:
"The topic is big, it excites the entire society, but it is not being considered in the National Assembly. We wanted it twice...".
In the words of Radoslav Ribarski Bulgaria should not wait for "the big guys to come to an agreement, but to be prepared":
"Such plans were considered in 2023, during the government of Nikolay Denkov, in view of the then EC sanctions, but we see a suspicious silence from the ruling party on this topic. Did they expect that there would be a deal, or did they hope for another buyer. There should have been complete transparency to guarantee people that there would be complete continuity of supplies of both oil and fuels. We are not observing this at the moment. Today was another day in which we dealt with completely different topics in the National Assembly, and we are not discussing the most important one - the future of the refinery and a plan that, if things do not go right with the decision that is to be taken by OFAK regarding the licenses in question and the sanctions imposed on "Lukoil", what do we do? We only heard that there are reserves for a few months. This is not a plan".
We need a logistical plan that will guarantee that we will not end up with an increase in prices and a lack of fuel, he was categorical and gave an example of the situation in Germany and Serbia.
