"As the BSP chairman said yesterday - if social benefits are harmed, we have no place in this government."

With these words, spoken on BNT, BSP Deputy Chairman Ivan Takov confirmed that the Socialists are ready to leave power if there are changes in the income policy set out in the budget for next year.

After yesterday's state estimates were withdrawn at the call of GERB leader Boyko Borisov, Deputy Prime Minister and BSP Chairman Atanas Zafirov announced that the Socialists are against the change in the "most social budget ever".

Regarding the 2026 Budget, Takov explained that the BSP is not ready to make compromises with income. "This was the possible budget that would have been good for next year. A very small part of our tax policy went into this budget. A "dividend" tax was one part of our vision for changing the tax system. But it was not the essential part of our vision", continued Ivan Takov, who is the leader of BSP-Sofia and deputy chairman of the BSP.
From January 1, 2026, there will be no increase in the price and expansion of parking spaces in Sofia, said Ivan Takov, who is a municipal councilor and chairman of the group of red councilors in the capital.

"The transport budget does not rely entirely on revenues from the Center for Urban Mobility. First, all alternative soft measures must be used before reaching the punitive action that the mayor has started,", he also said.
We have not stopped working to improve public transport, Takov assured.
