Ivaylo Mirchev: Tomorrow they will try to blind people's eyes. Don't let it. Come out and show your anger - 1

The most important thing that happened this week is not the political remarks, but the fact that “people understood what the problem with the budget is and came out to protest“, believes the co-chair of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev. He stated this in the program “In Focus” on the occasion of the multi-thousand-strong protest on Tuesday.

This was not a protest by a party or employers. There were different people there, angry people. And very young. If there is news of the week, it is that generation Z has come out to the square," he said.

Mirchev stressed that a large part of the protesters do not support either his party, or "Continue the Change," or "Democratic Bulgaria."

„There were people who told me "Mr. Mirchev, we do not like you, nor Assen Vassilev, nor "Change," nor "Yes, Bulgaria." However, you are right." This is the real sign," he said.

Mirchev commented on Boyko Borisov's claims that he "withdrawn the budget" after the demonstration. „Borisov is a hardened political liar. In the evening he said he was withdrawing the budget, the next day he said he was not withdrawing it. People see these contradictions", the MP claims.

According to him, the big goal is not just a budget correction. "The reason is the budget. The big goal is the removal of Peevski from public and political life", Mirchev added.

Regarding the tension during the demonstration, Mirchev believes that the police acted adequately, with the exception of one incident. He claims that there were devices on site to jam mobile communications. According to him, this has not happened at previous protests and is "a serious issue for the services".

The next demonstrations have already been scheduled, but Mirchev refuses to call them "party". “We have announced a protest, but we cannot take responsibility for it. This will be a protest of angry citizens. Politicians will not stop people”, the MP said.

Mirchev rejected the claims that the protest was organized by “Yes, Bulgaria“ or that a provocation was sought in parliament. “We came out absolutely spontaneously after another series of lies by Borisov. This was not a plan”, he added.

Finally, the co-chair of “Yes, Bulgaria“ called on people not to succumb to political suggestions. “Tomorrow they will try to blind people's eyes. Don't let it. Come out and show your anger”, he concluded.
