First, I want to congratulate the mayor of Botevgrad, who decided not to allow Peevski's protest. Peevski's protest should be banned in many other places as well. And this is because there is an element on Peevski's part to take out and distribute the ethnic card. He spoke to journalists about the ethnic card — he feels and understands very well what is happening in the state. This was announced to Lili Marinkova in the studio „FACT“ and the show „Conversation“ by political scientist Slavi Vassilev.
„People have realized the energy they have, and they intend to show it as they will show it tomorrow at the protests in the country, and Peevski's counter-protest will pale. I don't have a crystal ball to be able to predict the future, but I will tell you what is happening and what will happen tomorrow - the squares in the country will be much fuller, the squares in the country will be much angrier. People cannot tolerate an odious figure like Peevski standing at the top of the state. He cannot sit at the top of a state and this is clear to every free person, regardless of how he sees the world, what his political biases, desires and views are on a number of issues that do not find consensus in Bulgarian society. The figure of Peevski is a collective sign, strong enough to gather so many people in the squares of Bulgaria and tell him: “No!“, explained the guest.
“Peevski takes out the ethnic card as the last joker among the cards he has, but which are not enough for him to get out of this situation he has gotten himself into. The fact that he wants to rule the country behind the scenes will certainly make people get fed up and tell him: “Enough”, Vassilev also shared.
“Peevski is trying to present himself as a guarantor of ethnic peace, which he is not. Peevski can be a guarantor of corruption in the country, he can be a guarantor of schemes — such as Borisov and Dogan have developed with his kind participation over the years. Peevski can be a guarantor of a scheme, but not of ethnic peace. The very fact that Peevski allows himself to play this ethnic peace card shows that he understands that his days as a leader are numbered. No one will tolerate him at the top of the ruling coalition, no one will tolerate him at the top of the state. And the Bulgarians will insist. And this will continue against Peevski until he is gone once and for all“, the guest also commented.
