A huge amount of dead fish was found in one of the largest fish farms in our country - near the Karlovo village of Voinyagovo.
The signal was submitted by the owners of the company on tel. 112 about the fact that the water has a bitter taste and a suffocating smell is in the air. The company claims that the damage caused is over a million and a half leva, because thousands of tons of fish were killed. According to the owners, the fish are not dangerous to human health.
The "Basin Directorate" - Plovdiv indicated that the initial samples taken on site from the water source did not show any deviation from the norms. At the beginning of next week, laboratory tests will also be released, which will show whether there is pollution and the presence of toxic substances in the fish from the water source. The Ministry of Environment and Water and the Bulgarian Anti-Fraud Agency have been notified. The Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
