“Change starts with us“ – this is what the BSP said at the last Congress. About Krum Zarkov, I can only say that he was young, energetic, highly intelligent, honest. I remember that he submitted two resignations, left without noise, defending his position. This was stated to BNT by President Georgi Parvanov (2002-2012).
“With all my respect to the previous leadership, they paid the bill for those agreements, shushu-mushu between other leaders. I had said earlier that it was time to show will, character in governance, without it eroding it. We did not do it, that is why we lost. Relations with GERB and DPS – New beginnings weighed on the BSP's rating. GERB is a difficult coalition partner, their coalition culture is not at the highest level“, he believes.
„There are real chances for the young leader to restore the BSP's trust in both experienced cadres and the young. The competition with Rumen Radev will not be smooth on his part.
He believes that there is an unclear situation in the left space – some are talking about a partnership with Radev.
„I say competition, because at the stage of the election campaign we are competitors with everyone. When we skip the election career, then we put the cards on the table, we put the offers and consider whether there is a basis for a partnership. And I haven't heard Radev address the BSP and the left as his potential partners," Parvanov emphasized.
He believes that the idea of a battle with the "model" should be deciphered as to which model it is: "I see a triple model - Borisov, Peevski and Radev himself. They don't work together, but de facto they are hindering the development of Bulgarian politics to a close degree."
"I want to react sharply to the behavior of a provocateur and hooligan, I won't even mention his name. His behavior is unworthy," he is categorical.
