New details in the investigation of the deaths in the area of the former "Petrohan" hut and near Okolchitsa Peak.
The conclusions of the forensic medical examinations show that Plamen Stattev's death was caused by a gunshot fired at point-blank range. Regarding Decho Vassilev, the investigators indicate that the fatal shot was fired at close range and it is possible that he ended his own life. Traces of gunpowder particles were found on the right hand of both men.
The forensic medical examination of the third man – Ivaylo Ivanov, whose body was found in the area of the former “Petrohan“ hut, is still not ready.
New data has also emerged about 15-year-old Aleksandar and 22-year-old Nikolay Zlatkov, whose bodies were found in a camper near Okolchitsa Peak. The information collected so far shows that traces of gunpowder particles were found on the hands of Zlatkov and Kalushev, while there are none on the hands of the minor boy. In practice, this means that the only thing certain at this point is that 15-year-old Aleksandar did not shoot.
The forensic examinations of Plamen and Decho also show traces suggesting that they started a fire. According to the prosecutor's office, Plamen's eyebrows and beard were burned, without burns on the hairy part of the head and without thermal burns on the face - something typical of people who caused a fire or ignited a fuel leak. Decho had burns on his wrists and palms, probably caused by the ignition of flammable liquid covering his hands.
The prosecutor's office also reported that in the “closed community, mandatory meditations, mantras and other practices were practiced“. Data on the permanent presence of minors and underage children both in a property in Mexico and in various places in Bulgaria are also confirmed. Witness statements contain allegations of sexual contacts between an adult man and underage children and underage boys.
In an interview with the investigative website “Bird“ Valeri Andreev said that about 15 years ago, when he was a minor, his mother left him in Kalushev's care. He lived with him in the village of Kraevo and claims that illegally owned weapons were hidden in the house. Later they left for Mexico, and according to him, life there was sponsored by various people, including his mother. Andreev claims that the funds amounted to over one million leva and were controlled by Ivo with the help of Deyan.
It was Deyan who reported the three bodies found in the area of “Petrohan“ to 112. He is married to a Mexican woman and lives in Bulgaria. From posts on social networks it is clear that the two own a house in Mexico, built about a year and a half ago, which they rent out for spiritual retreats, yoga practices, ceremonies and remote work.
Andreev also claims that in 2022 he filed a report with the State Department of Anti-Sexual Violence against Kalushev, in which he described his experiences, including sexual contacts that took place when he was a minor. According to him, before the first sexual contact, numerous sessions were held, directed at suggestions about “previous lives“ and relationships between the participants, “lives in which I am a woman and in which I have relationships with some of them“. Andreev also said that before having sexual contact with Kalushev, he told him that he had doubts about whether he was gay, BTV reported.
Resigned Interior Minister Daniel Mitov has ordered a full review of all data and signals, which has not yet been completed.
