The Sofia City Court changed the measure of former Deputy Mayor of Sofia Nikola Barbutov from house arrest to bail in the amount of 5,000 euros.
This was reported by BNT.
Barbutov is accused of participating in an organized criminal group for bribery and official misconduct, together with businessman Petar Rafailov, Sonya Klisurska and Rositsa Pandova.
This came to this after allegations by the mayors of the capital's districts "Lyulin" and "Mladost" Georgi Todorov and Ivaylo Kukurin, that they were pressured to participate in a corruption scheme to rig public procurement for certain companies.
The pre-trial hearing was supposed to begin today, but was postponed to March 25 due to failure to complete the procedure for serving court papers to the defense attorney of the defendant, Sonya Klisurska.
