Stanishev explained what the BSP's relations with Rumen Radev will be - 1

All parties participating in the elections are our competitors. This includes Rumen Radev's project, said Sergey Stanishev in the studio of "The Day Begins" on BNT. According to the socialist, it is one thing to vote for President Radev, but another to support his political project:

Sergey Stanishev, member of the BSP Executive Bureau: "But it is one thing to elect President Radev. It is another thing to vote for a political project, which for me does not have any clear political physiognomy. What is it? Apart from the general message "to sweep away the oligarchy", for normalization, on which the BSP certainly has common, close positions with him. Is it left-wing, centrist, right-wing, conservative? Which European political family does his party plan to belong to? I don't know."

According to Sergey Stanishev, Rumen Radev's silence on a number of current issues may be a pre-election strategy to get votes from "Vazrazhdane", PP-DB, GERB, and BSP. He also pointed out that his project does not have enough spokespeople.

Sergey Stanishev, member of the BSP Executive Bureau: "I say this as an objective observation, as there are no clear positions on many issues. Therefore, the relations between the BSP and this party will be built on the basis of positions."

Regarding surveys that cast doubt on the BSP's entry into the next parliament, Stanishev recalled that Bulgarians have always managed to surprise sociologists.

Sergey Stanishev, member of the BSP Executive Bureau: "Pleasant, unpleasant. I hope that in the case of the BSP it will be pleasant. That is why I joined the leadership, because at this moment, signs must be given to many people who were repelled by the BSP during Ninova's rule. Space has been lost. The BSP has cleared its own ground in many ways, rushing to compete with Eurosceptics, nationalists and conservatives."

"I am convinced that the presence of the BSP in the next parliament will perhaps be key to forming an honest, stable government, which is also based on clear rules, with a coalition agreement, with a clear program, with a clear mechanism", Stanishev added.

Sergey Stanishev also said that the BSP is the only Bulgarian party that has taken a clear, categorical position on the war in the Middle East, defining it as "internationally illegitimate".
