The idea is not that a party only passes the 4 percent barrier, but also what it offers. Such an opinion was expressed in the program "In Focus" by the chairman of the Youth Union of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Gabriel Bulkov.

According to him, there is no real danger that the "Progressive Bulgaria" formation will weaken or "melt" the Bulgarian Socialist Party.

„I do not believe that "Progressive Bulgaria" can melt the BSP for one main reason. When we go to the elections on April 19 and look at the ballot, there are 24 parties with 24 numbers on it. Only with number 5, voting for the BSP can one vote for a left-wing party, because this is the only left-wing party on the entire ballot. And I believe that all socialists will vote for the BSP“, said Valkov.

The interview also touched on the topic of economic policy, with emphasis placed on the idea of changing the tax system.

„We are for a fair tax system. This means that the poorest part of the population, those who work on a minimum wage, should have a tax-free minimum. When they do not pay 10% tax, this will raise their salaries by 10%“, explained Valkov.

Valkov argued his position with the need for social justice. „We want to return this justice – "While there are people who have to choose between bread and medicine, it is not normal for others to have private planes and yachts," he explained.

“There is no point in going back to the past, because politics is a conversation about the future. About what kind of Bulgaria we want to live in in the coming years. That is why we are going to the elections“, concluded Valkov.
