In connection with the finale of the third stage of the Giro d’Italia – a global event, the Sofia Municipality is undertaking preparatory activities, including ensuring safe and quality road infrastructure.
From April 1 (Wednesday), under favorable weather conditions, repair works will begin on some sections of Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd.. The work will be carried out outside peak hours, if possible, in order to minimize traffic disruptions. Local repairs to the pavement and alignment of storm drains are planned.
Today (Tuesday), an inspection of the inspection shafts along the boulevard will be carried out. In this regard, traffic will be limited in the direction of the center in the section from „Ploshad na Aviatsiya“ to „Vasil Levski“ Blvd. In some places, traffic will be carried out only in two lanes temporarily.
In suitable weather conditions, it is expected that by the end of the week, repair work will begin in stages in the following sections in the direction of the center:
from „Copenhagen“ Blvd. to the 4th km of „Tsarigradsko Shose“;
from „Ploshad na Aviatsiya“ to „Vasil Levski“ Blvd.
In parallel, work will also be carried out on „Samokovsko Shose“ Str. – in the section from „Copenhagen“ Blvd. to the Sofia Ring Road.
The renovation of the infrastructure in the affected sections is planned to be carried out within one month.
The Sofia Municipality apologizes for the inconvenience caused and calls on drivers to use alternative routes and drive with increased caution. The activities undertaken are aimed at improving safety and traffic in the city.
