A 62-year-old cyclist died in a road accident in Byala Slatina, the Vratsa Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior announced. The man was hit by a truck driven by a 38-year-old driver.
The accident occurred at an intersection in the city, around 11:00 a.m., on April 7.
The alcohol and drug tests on the driver of the vehicle are negative.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
Last year, 12 people died in accidents in the Vratsa region, according to the report of the Vratsa Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, published on the directorate's website. Most accidents occurred during daylight hours, but the number of fatalities was the same during the day and night.
