The Management Board of the SFSMVR watches with bewilderment another thoughtless, unargued and aggressive attack against the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is stated in the position of the union.
„An attack on a minister of this department, regardless of the specific person, on such a scale and on a topic such as vote buying during an upcoming election, seriously damages the image of our profession, unjustifiably tarnishes all employees, imposing we stigmatize people who are unable to perform their duties professionally and impartially. Such assessments, after more than 9 months, especially when you were in a government during which elections were held, do not seem objective. At least 40% more initiated pre-trial proceedings compared to local elections in 2019 speak of an improvement in curbing this crime against the political rights of citizens”, the position added.
Now the president will hand over the folder for forming a government to the second largest parliamentary group
„We are seriously prevented from commenting on such situations, unlike all our western partners trade union organizations in EU member states and we respect the bans imposed, but we cannot afford to remain silent in the ongoing verbal war of representatives of political parties against the department. It could only cause serious damage, including to citizens, to the extent that it inevitably reduces the efficiency and motivation of employees.
We must emphasize that the Ministry of the Interior is an institution that went through the previous regular administration without having to protest against outrages regarding the protection of their socio-economic and labor rights. No ruling political party or coalition in the last 15 years can boast of this. This has enabled us to be as full as possible in carrying out our duties for the benefit of the citizens.
We remind – votes are bought by definition by those who benefit, and only politicians have such. No matter how well the Ministry of Internal Affairs copes with limiting this disgraceful phenomenon, as long as it is tolerated in the parties themselves, attempts to do so will exist”, emphasized the SFSMVR.
