On the basis of Art. 36, para. 6, item 1 of the Law on the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Chief Commissioner Zhivko Kotsev, submitted an application for dismissal from his position at his own request. This is the official announcement.
Zhivko Kotsev assumed the post of chief secretary from September 8, 2023. He joined the Ministry of the Interior in 1991 as a police officer in the Security Service. He worked as an inspector in the "Crimes against the person and robberies" sector, head of the "Robberies" sector, head of the Fourth RU-SDVR, director of the ODMVR-Veliko Tarnovo, deputy director of the SDVR. From March 2022 to July 2023, he was the director of ODMVR-Sofia.
