The Prosecutor's College of the Supreme Judicial Council is discussing the letter of the former Minister of Justice Atanas Slavov, BTA reported. A few days ago, he insisted on an investigation and possible search for disciplinary responsibility of Borislav Sarafov and Iliana Kirilova in the case of “Kotsev”.
Slavov insisted that a full, objective and comprehensive investigation be carried out of the alleged facts and circumstances of putting pressure on the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zhivko Kotsev, to resign.
The request is based on a letter received by the Ministry of Justice from the then-resigned Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, which “contains information and indicates the circumstances of a breach of official duties by administrative managers in the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria”, it is stated. in the message.
In particular, Slavov cited the statement by Zhivko Kotsev in a report to Prime Minister Denkov that on April 3 he was psychologically pressured to resign from his position as chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The pressure, according to Kotsev, was exerted by the acting chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov, with the participation of the administrative head of the SGP prosecutor Iliana Kirilova, in the presence of her deputy Hristo Krastev and the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission Anton Slavchev.
