Nadezhda Yordanova: There is fierce resistance to reforms and a horrified mud war - 1

The scandal with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and customs shows that reforms in the services and in the judicial system must continue.

This is what Nadezhda Yordanova, deputy chairperson of the PG of PP-DB, former minister of justice, told the BNR.

In her words, there is "one brandishing of compromising materials and leaking of information without knowing where the truth is", but this is not an effort for an objective, quick and comprehensive investigation, but is a "compromising club":

"I am afraid that this case will be forgotten somewhere after it has achieved its compromising purpose. ... I will continue to insist that the facts be established - as they are.

She was adamant that compromising materials are not in the arsenal of PP-DB:

"It is our duty to offer solutions to people and to convince them that we can take our lives in our hands and guide them. That the state can be a mother instead of being a club.

Instead of continuing with reforms and with joint efforts, GERB refused to make independent decisions that were not approved by the DPS, Yordanova also commented and specified that after this decision, the "return to the rhetoric known in 2017, 2018, 2019".

"The terrible mud war that then took place. Books were published against "Democratic Bulgaria" and "Yes, Bulgaria", what miracles - lie after lie were written then. But we did not cancel our path, on the contrary - we talked about what the way forward should be. Because the more disgusted people are, the less they vote.

We see fierce resistance against the reforms, Nadezhda Yordanova emphasized.

She called on the caretaker government:

"Whatever staffing decisions they make, they should only be based on professionalism, not party bias or desires for purges. ... I see some attempt at revenge. What happened in DANS is worrying. With two appointed deputies - one is released, and the other - remains".

"The fact that Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov was appointed coordinator of the preparations for the elections surprised me, because the Minister of Transport does not have any functional competence when it comes to the organization and conduct of the elections. ... This shows that the caretaker government does not resist the temptation to engage in political games. This is not an isolated behavior, because the previous several offices also joined the political games", Yordanova commented.

PP and DB must be together in the upcoming elections, because in these difficult times we cannot divide the voters, said Yordanova.
