Corruption in Bulgaria is at its highest level for the last two decades.
35% of citizens report that they were asked for a bribe in 2023, and 30% admit to having participated in corrupt deals – values comparable only to the levels of corruption in 1999.
This is according to the latest analysis of the Center for the Study of Democracy. It will be presented today, and the acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will also take part in the event.
