Vacation time: In three months this year, there will be only 19 working days and long holidays - 1

There are ten days left until the May holidays and accordingly to the series of holidays. In the month of May, there are 6 official days off and holidays throughout the month, and 19 working days, BNT calculated.

May 1 (Wednesday) is Labor Day and is an official holiday. May 3 (Good Friday) and May 4 (Holy Saturday of Holy Week) are also public holidays for Easter. On May 5 (Sunday) is Easter itself, when the Orthodox community celebrates the Resurrection of Christ. This year, however, the day after Easter on May 6 is St. George's Day - Day of Courage and the Bulgarian Army.

There are two more months with 19 working days each this year. These are September and December. In September because of the Unification Day and Independence Day, and in December - because of the Christmas holidays.

This year the holidays are arranged so that if you take 3 days off, you can enjoy 10 days off.

This year, Easter coincides with May 6 - St. George's Day - Day of Courage and the Bulgarian Army, and May 1 - Labor Day is an official holiday. Thus, from the weekends at the beginning of May, only May 2 is working, and until recently it was also school. District mayors can decide at their own discretion whether the day in question should be non-school. A large number of local administrators have already announced that they have decided to let students have a longer vacation.

So if you take the 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of May (only 5 days off), you'll actually be off for almost 2 weeks, with 2 weekends available.

If you have the opportunity, you can also take April 29 (Monday) and April 30 (Tuesday) and you will have 16 full days off.
So your last day of work will be April 26 and you won't return to work until May 13. And all this with only 7 days of leave.

Work on a day that is declared a public holiday is paid twice. Double pay would be due when the schedule employee is required to work on a public holiday.

However, if he is not on the schedule and the employer calls him to work, the law requires that he be paid four times his wages. This is because the 100% overtime increase is calculated on top of the normal pay for work on a public holiday, which as we said is double the daily wage.

Working on public holidays is often accompanied by overtime, for which the law provides for increased compensation. When the employee works over the established working hours on a working day, the employer owes him remuneration with a 50% increase for each hour of overtime.

If the work is on weekends, the increase is 75%. For overtime on a public holiday, the employer must pay an increase of 100%. These two grounds (increased pay for overtime and increased pay for working on a public holiday) are different and for each of them the worker or employee should be remunerated twice.
