Rosen Zhelyazkov: My removal was a compilation of motives of the opposition parties - 1

"Maybe until yesterday evening there was some bitterness, maybe this is a perfectly normal human reaction to experience, but in politics one must quickly shake off personal involvement in political processes. Ambition, pride, ego are not good advisors for any politician, especially when it's not about personal topics", is how Rosen Zhelyazkov commented in the BNT studio about his removal as Speaker of the National Assembly.

"Yesterday's decision is part of the political process that gained enough speed in recent months and led to the regular government not being able to continue its work, until we go to elections once again. I don't know at all whether this denouement was the point, whether it was the epilogue. It was some kind of unnecessary demonstration, and if for the opposition in the form of BSP, ITN, and "Vazrazhdane" it was part of normal political behavior".

Regarding his former partners, Rosen Zhelyazkov said his opinion was that "it was a revenge, a desire for punishment or something like that". According to him, the political consequences will have a dimension in the election campaign, and "probably after that".

Zhelyazkov pointed out that the request for his removal was a "compilation of motives of the opposition parties".

"This was perhaps a consequence of the failed rotation".

The former speaker of the National Assembly said that at the beginning of the year, the complex process of relationships of the seemingly easy rotation began.

"This process started with a conversation about whose mandate the rotation will be carried out, went through the subject of Mr. Denkov - Foreign Minister, and reached the Memorandum. Boyko Borisov's proposal for this government to continue its work without any change was passed. And then came this surprise resignation, which is now presented as a promise kept, but it was a tactical move.

Rosen Zhelyazkov added that this is how it comes to "the natural end of this pent-up mistrust, which was actually never overcome".

"In politics not only with "James Bond" never say never".

And he added that there is no term "never" in politics. Regarding the future elections, the former Speaker of the Parliament said that there will probably be six political formations again after them. He said that it is known exactly who will be the first.

"We know with the same certainty who will be the fifth and sixth, but we do not know who will be the second, third and fourth".

Zhelyazkov explained that two parties will not be able to form a government again and its formation "will again go through talks and these talks will rest on values".

In his words, a political campaign can be another burnt "bridge" between the political participants in the political process.

"And really getting back into the cycle of election after election".

Rosen Zhelyazkov said that "in politics, sometimes the issue of sympathy and ego takes precedence". He added that if this continues after the elections:

"It masks or mimics under the principles "who does not want to reform, but who is actually the authentic reformer, and we blame each other and point fingers, then nothing will be possible, because we are the transmission of distrust between the people in society and the "fans" of our political teams".
