Dimitar Hadjidimitrov: There will be no fuel prices above BGN 3 per liter until the end of the year - 1

"At the moment there is no great demand for diesel fuel on the international markets and that is why the price of diesel is slightly falling", the chairman of the Association of Bulgarian Traders, Manufacturers, Importers and fuel carriers Dimitar Hadjidimitrov.

To compensate for this, the refineries raise the price of gasoline slightly. Six cents is about 2-3%, which is within the normal range, according to the expert.

According to Hadjidimitrov, if there is a crisis and the economy is in great need of fuel, then we will see higher prices, but he does not see such indications in the near future. Every regional conflict affects fuel prices, but this is short-term, and prices are mainly regulated by markets according to demand, it became clear from his words.

Dimitar Hadjidimitrov reassured people that fuel prices will be in this range during the holidays: Until May 8, the prices will not budge from this position of the speakers.

We are not expected to run out of fuel, and the refinery has guaranteed our supplies for the next 3-4 months, the guest also pointed out.

"It has been said for a long time that we are at the minimum excise duty rates in the EU. We had a proposal from the EU 3 years ago to jump by 50 BGN per year and to reach the average levels of excise taxes. We see these rates holding, but at some point we have to. This is imposed by the EU and we will have to raise them. If not 2025, then in 2026 we will see higher rates," Hadjidimitrov explained.

According to him, nothing in prices will change with the adoption of the euro in Bulgaria. "In 5-6 years, there will be no cash on the market,", predicts the guest in the studio.

By the end of the year, he does not expect to see prices above BGN 3 per liter of fuel in our country.
