I myself submitted an application to leave “We Continue the Change” (PP), the MP from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria“ (PP-DB) Stoyan Georgiev.
According to him, the reason is that the management of PP supports the construction of a wind farm with 43 towers in Silistra.
The leadership of the PP expressed an opinion different from what I have in particular and the people of Silistra municipality - a large part of them and after encountering a misunderstanding, I decided that there is simply no place for me to be in the ranks of this party and I have to lead the people, to stop this evil that is hanging over our heads, explained Georgiev.
He explained that there is a project approved by the Municipal Council to change the General Development Plan for the construction of a wind farm. 43 towers, each 290 meters high, are to be built in this park.
A total of 43 wind turbines, "shut down" in fertile agricultural land, only to become some project from which two or three people will profit, and all the others will suffer, said Stoyan Georgiev. Only a few kilometers away is the Srebarna lake, he added.
Stoyanov said that the municipal councilor from PP Maria Hristova Ilcheva-Ivanova, who was elected from the citizen quota, also did not support the project for the wind generator.
The project was introduced by the mayor of Silistra Municipality, Alexander Sabanov.
Earlier today, the PP leadership announced that Stoyan Georgiev is no longer part of the party.
