"No matter how advanced the technologies are in modern wars, the people who participate in them remain the most important. Whether warfare is conducted with drones or other advanced technology, it is the human who makes the decisions. He is the one who decides whether to pull the trigger and lead the fighting so that there are no wounded or killed. And accordingly - to lead things to victory or defeat".
This was stated to NOVA by the commander of our ground forces, Major General Deyan Deshkov.
He was categorical that the Bulgarian army has trained and prepared personnel to work with modern equipment.
"The importance of the infantry is in the man. Everything depends on the one who is in the field - ie. the infantryman. Key, for him, is the technique and the weaponry he uses. And that's where the drone comes in, the satellite picture that is fed to it," Deshkov stressed.
