Our commitment, which we have stated, is to have at least one working lift by the end of our term. Hopefully there will be a much more comprehensive solution, not just one, to make the mountain accessible. This is what we are working for, assured the Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, at a briefing in connection with the non-working lifts to Vitosha and possible solutions, specified BTA.
In his words, there is no way to expect to solve a problem inherited from the old administration of the Metropolitan Municipality and dating back to 2007 in six months.
We have heard a lot of fabrications on the subject with Vitosha and from GERB trying to throw the blame for something they created on someone else and having to talk about how in six months we have not been able to do things for which they had 35 six months – since the time when they sold the elevators with a crazy contract that does not protect our interests in any way.
Earlier today, the GERB-SDS group in the Sofia Municipal Council demanded the release of the Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs of the Sofia Municipality and stated that there is inaction on the part of the Mayor of Sofia regarding the issue of the Simeonovsky lift.
After years of criminal inaction on the part of the then rulers, we are about to finally lose the Simeonovsky lift, announced yesterday the chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council Tsvetomir Petrov.
