Defendant in the trial is her ex-boyfriend - the security guard Georgi Georgiev, accused of inflicting 18 stab wounds with a dummy knife, forcibly cutting her hair and repeatedly threatening to kill her.
On Friday, the District Court in Plovdiv first questioned the victim, Deborah Mihailova, who received over 400 stitches on her face and body. Then he listened to the main ten witnesses.
Today, the court is about to question even more. Then, on two different days, he will hear the experts who prepared the examinations, including the most contested one - the forensic medical one.
Deborah's lawyers and the prosecutor's office asked for the maximum sentence for the defendant - ten years in prison. The case is heard behind closed doors.
