Dimo Gyaurov on the "Srebrenica" case: It is the job of DANS to determine whether there is possibly no evidence of a crime - 1

In 2024, the high intensity of attacks against national security related to operations of foreign special services, malicious information campaigns and cyber attacks will be maintained. This is stated in the activity report of the State Agency “National Security” (DANS) for 2023, published on the agency's website.

„The DANS report is routine. There is nothing unusual and bombastic. As a topic, most things have already been discussed. DANS has in mind not so much Srebrenica as North Macedonia. The Western Balkans turned out to be a serious “sore”. Like any unstable place, it provides an opportunity for foreign interests to influence and continue to destabilize the situation.

This is what the former head of the National Intelligence Service, Gen. Dimo Gyaurov.

He also commented on the actions of Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev for sending a letter to the Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the UN for a change in the position of our country from “for” of “abstained” at the last moment before the vote. There was also a reaction from the Serbian president, as well as from the parties represented in the parliament.

According to gen. Gyaurov voting in the UN with “abstained” shows gross ignorance of diplomatic practices.

„DANS's job is to find out if there is possibly no evidence of any crime. Vucic addressed the Serbs in order to explain to the citizens the reason for this diplomatic failure of Serbia rather than to preserve his sources, he said.

Gen. Gyaurov also commented on the topic of concerns about Russian aggression towards countries other than Ukraine. “In recent weeks, there have been reports of fears not just of propaganda actions, but of actions related to destabilization of the economy, arson, sabotage, means of transport and energy systems.

Given that this is happening within the whole of Northern and part of Western Europe, we also have serious reasons to worry,” added the former head of intelligence.
