Rosen Yordanov: Radev's rating is the lowest that a Bulgarian president has had since the beginning of democratic changes - 1

A person who < strong>systematically tolerates division in society, it is difficult to be qualified as a head of state. ... When you talk like that, you emotionally set one group of society against another. Society is being Talibanized, This is the effect - setting people against each other.

This is what psychologist Rosen Yordanov told BNR about the statements of President Rumen Radev in recent days, related to Russia's war against Ukraine and the help that the EU and NATO countries provide to Kyiv to defend itself.

He emphasized that Radev's rating is the lowest that a Bulgarian president has had since the beginning of democratic processes in the country, "which says a lot about him".

"Things were destroyed that should not have been destroyed. When people live together, there is always a way back, but it will be very difficult to restore trust between people and humanity," said Yordanov and specified that there is a direct connection between trust and the happiness index:

"When you destroy trust between people and in institutions, you create a society of people who start behaving very badly with each other. ... We have passed the test of hysteria and lack of reason. I think sanity is slowly returning. Society has powers of self-preservation, I believe in that.

"Influence through the mass media reinforces existing attitudes rather than changing them. ... Information depends much more on the quality of the audience than on its content," explained the psychologist and gave an example of Rumen Radev's statements about war and peace:

"Those who like him will like him even more, and those who don't like him won't like him even more.
