Evelina Hristova: If we want to have a government, some kind of coalition will have to happen - 1

The agreement between the parties after the election will come at a price that will not be very pleasant for them, because during the election campaign the candidates threw mud at each other and now it will be difficult for them to wash their stained hands and hand them to each other to squeeze.

This is what Radio "Focus" Prof. Dr. Evelina Hristova, lecturer at NBU.

Nevertheless, according to her, none of the future political parties represented in the parliament will ask for new elections in the fall:

"Which is the alternative to some kind of government. However, I would refrain from using the word stable in front of management, but we will probably have a management with a horizon that will depend on its goals. If the future government sets itself the goal of stabilizing prices, increasing people's incomes, working towards entry into the Eurozone and has a clear direction internationally, it can last for quite a long time," says Associate Professor Hristova.

According to her, the current election campaign took place in the old way, and no new results are expected: "The parties bet on the things they are used to working with until now. Many of them work in the field. Experienced people appear in the media, in very few places and on very few topics we saw new people. There was also a negative campaign, there was also fake news, manipulation and misinformation in a different form.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Evelina Hristova, it will be of great importance who will be in second place and what will be the lead between the first and the next three, which can predetermine to a large extent what will happen.

"If we want to have a government, some kind of coalition will have to happen - whether they will call it a coalition, whether it will be an assembly, whether it will be a construction or someone else will come up with another modern term that will be imposed. "Perhaps they will name the expert government, it can also be a minority government, you know we have one rotation with the execution of a mandate and accordingly its implementation or non-implementation, it can also be named a program cabinet", commented the lecturer at the NBU.

She also admits that it is possible that the "I support no one" to set new records, which, however, will not lead to any change in the result:

"People who would like to cast their protest vote had better choose someone to support. Having a large choice splits the vote to such an extent that many people will cast their vote either with "I'm not supporting anyone" or for parties that have no chance of getting anywhere near entering the National Assembly, leaving those people unrepresented until a great degree".

Evelina Hristova recalled that under the Constitution we are obliged to vote, although there is no sanction if there is a failure to fulfill this obligation: "When fulfilling this obligation, one can influence the results", assured the teacher from the NBU.
