A new offense with heavy equipment on one of the hills in Plovdiv caused a storm of indignation, Nova TV reported. Excavator was caught demolishing rocks. This happened in the area of the Mladezhki Hill natural landmark.

The incident provoked an immediate joint investigation by a team of the regional environmental and water inspection – Plovdiv and the Central region under the Plovdiv municipality.
„We received the signal on Monday, we immediately came, identified the contractor, contacted him and stopped the actions,” said Nadezhda Petrova, director of the “Construction" Directorate. in the "Central" area - Plovdiv.
She explained that no construction is planned there. The investor simply wanted to expand the space for maneuvering the cars.
„This is the first tepe of the Plovdiv hills to be declared a protected area. For the committed violation, the law provides for a fine of 500 to 5000 BGN for individuals, for legal entities – from 1,000 to 10,000 BGN”, said Maria Mihailova from the eco-inspection.
