The policeman who shot a 19-year-old youth in Pleven fired the shots with his personal weapon. A total of four law enforcement officers were in the unmarked vehicle that collided with the car carrying five young men. The versions of the two sides differed, but one thing is clear - the accident occurred after the two cars were detected.
„I personally was not able to talk to the police officer. This is an extremely unpleasant incident where we witnessed an unprofessional approach on the part of the police officer. The good thing is that the boy is alive and his life is out of danger," Senior Commissioner Atanas Ilkov, director of the National Police DG, commented in the Nova TV studio.
He explained that it was not the purpose of the policeman's explanations, but that the situation itself arose when a car was stopped by law enforcement officers late in the day.
„According to the officer, he goes down and introduces himself, but the boys say they did not take his orders and instructions. The car was civilian, he was not in uniform, but according to him he showed his service card. On that day, he was at work, but this does not give him the right to carry out actions that are in the hypotheses of exceeding the police powers”, senior commissioner Ilkov also said.
According to him, the policeman's weapon was his own and legally owned, and in the course of the investigation it will become clear whether the other three law enforcement officers will also be held accountable.
„The employee who fired the shot has over 20 years of experience in the system. He has been awarded more than 20 times, and there are many small gaps in his work” , Senior Commissioner Ilkov also said.
The Director of DG “National Police” also commented on the subject of the bought vote.
„The preparation and production of elections guarantees public order, this is a serious test for the Ministry of the Interior. We have created a very good organization, many meetings have been held, there are separate interdepartmental units that work on this topic.
