There should be no significant change in the price of the current from July 1, because there is no reason for a drastic increase. We all see zero electricity prices almost every day due to the increasing share of RES in production, so the changes are unlikely to be that drastic.
This is what the energy expert Todor Todorov said on the air of Euronews Bulgaria.
In view of the fact that due to the increase in energy efficiency in the economy and in people's homes, the last six years at least have seen a decrease in electricity consumption and, accordingly, a decrease in production. A 30% increase in the price of electricity is not realistic.
„The liberalization of the electricity market does not necessarily mean an increase in prices. However, for years we have been living with the idea of cheap electricity, but this deprives the energy industry of investments. Instead of cheap electricity, we should strive to increase people's incomes”, the expert also noted.
According to him, the idea of cheap electricity also has a negative effect on consumers, because that way they do not take steps to be more energy efficient – through sanitation and energy saving.
