The BSP will insist that the equipment of the "Belene" NPP; not to be sold to Ukraine. They will submit a draft decision to the National Assembly, with which they will request that the negotiations between Bulgaria and Ukraine be frozen until it is established whether part of the equipment can be used for the needs of the Kozloduy NPP.

This was announced by the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group, Dragomir Stoynev, reported "Focus".

"We insist through the parliament that all sales negotiations be terminated. We call on all political forces to support this decision in the next week," Stoinev said.

"If this equipment is unusable, only then should it be sold,", he continued.

According to him, first an analysis and assessment of the needs of the "Kozloduy" NPP must be carried out. and whether the equipment from the "Belene" NPP can be used. However, if it is found that it is not necessary, then to proceed to negotiations for its sale.

The BSP's request was dictated by yesterday's hearing of the Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov, who announced that the steam generators from the "Belene" NPP however, they may be compatible with those of the "Kozloduy" NPP. The minister himself said yesterday that he will launch an independent analysis to determine whether the steam generators can de facto be used.
