The Ministry of Tourism took urgent action and ordered an immediate inspection of the Butamyata beach, located near the village of Sinemorets. The reason for this was publications in the media and serious violations found by the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Burgas. According to the conclusions of the inspection, illegal activities were carried out on the territory of the protected area of the “Strandja“ nature park, including the import of soil and other fractions, as well as construction work.
In response to these established violations, the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh ordered the formation of an expert team to conduct an on-site inspection. The ministry emphasizes that according to the terms of the concession agreement signed with the concessionaire, illegal construction, as well as the placement of unapproved movable objects and facilities on the concession area and its adjacent water area, is not allowed.
“In the event that a violation of the contractual provisions is established, all sanctions provided for in the current legislation and the contract will be taken, including the imposition of a penalty, and in the event of a systematic violation - termination of the concession“, Minister Borshosh stated in the official announcement.
The Ministry of Tourism added that during the inspection, an opinion will be requested from the concessionaire company regarding the nature of the activities carried out and the reasons for non-compliance with the legal provisions.
The Ministry of Environment and Water (MOEW) also issued a position on the case, stating that on March 21, the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water - Burgas established gross violations by the concessionaire. The Environmental Inspectorate has found that construction activities have been carried out on the beach terrain and earth masses have been filled in, therefore appropriate administrative measures will be taken.
