Protest against air pollution in Dimitrovgrad. The people of the city organized a procession in the streets and blocked the Haskovo-Stara Zagora road demanding that the thermal power plant “Maritsa 3” stop polluting the air.
They point out that for the last 4 years Dimitrovgrad has been the most heavily polluted city in Bulgaria with high levels of sulfur dioxide and other unknown pollutants.
The power plant announced that starting next month they will embark on a large-scale capital renovation and will invest 10 million leva.
The regional eco-inspection has inspected the thermal power plant 105 times in the last 3 years.
