End users of electricity, among which kindergartens, nurseries, schools, community centers, temples, sports schools and others will continue to be compensated for their energy costs for the period July 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024, NOVA reported.
This provides for the continuation of the specially developed program adopted by the Council of Ministers at its meeting today.
The adopted program complements other temporary measures already taken at the national level to increase transparency and improve the functioning of the energy market.
Compensation will be calculated as the difference between the average price of a base cargo on a “Day Ahead" of the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange for the relevant month and the regulated price approved by the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation for the current price period.
Compensation will be provided through the suppliers with whom the end customers have a contract for the purchase of electricity, as a reduction of the amount due for payment on the relevant invoice.
The necessary financial resources under the program in the amount of about BGN 50 million are provided by the targeted contributions of the obligated persons to the "Security of the electricity system" fund.
The program will be implemented until December 31, 2024, according to the period provided by the transitional and final provisions of the Law on the State Budget.
