Yovchev: The damage to DPS has already been done, but the party can stabilize - 1

What poses the greatest risks for the country's security and for the future of society, is the state of the political system. There are three aspects to this crisis that can generate serious threats. The first thing is that there is a problem of legitimacy. Confidence in the parliament is below 10%. This shows that the people's elected representatives do not have the public trust to carry out the necessary reforms. The second aspect is related to radicalization with our political system. When the main political entities in the parliament set boundaries, it becomes absolutely impossible to achieve a normal configuration. The third thing is the ability of our political system to give that governance that society needs

This was commented by the former chairman of DANS Tsvetlin Yovchev in the broadcast to NOVA NEWS.

In his words, if the DPS manage to control the tremors in the party, it will stabilize. “The damage has already been done. The very fact that there is tension within, that there is not one monolithic political entity that has predictable behavior, when this thing is missing, the power and the possibility of influencing the processes of the respective political party fall”, Yovchev also said.

The former chairman of DANS explained that the way forward is to have a serious transformation in the political parties. “Such a reform can be done slowly and gradually, as well as with faster actions. The risks with DPS are that there is still a group of Bulgarian citizens of Turkish ethnic origin, under certain processes they could feel excluded from public life again, and this will lead to its own risks, added Yovchev.

„DPS has always been a rather strongly hierarchical structure. What the management “dropped” as a position, it is fulfilled”, Tsvetlin Yovchev believes.

According to him “Greatness” is an emanation of the state of the political system in our country. “Political parties need to start sobering up and listen to what the Bulgarian people tell them,”, Yovchev said.
