The development of the situation in the DPS depends on what the honorary chairman will say of the Ahmed Dogan party.
Orhan Ismailov, chairman of the party “Freedom and Dignity”, commented on this on bTV Radio. and former Deputy Minister of Defense.
He pointed out that every party has a statute and the collective bodies will decide how to sanction those who did not fulfill the will of the honorary chairman.
„When things are leaked and they are already in front of the media and in front of the public, it is already too late, people are waiting for the development of events. There is no way to stick what is broken. That's how I see it.“, pointed out Ismailov.
When asked how the MPs close to Dogan interpreted the message – “There is no going back”, Orhan Ismailov answered: “The question is very precise and clear. There is no going back, this is when in a family when they split up, they say – there is no going back, one has to give in and walk away, there is no way to go back to the beginning. One side says – this is the new beginning, the other side says – there is no turning back. This is a message to the others on Peevski's side that there is no way we can get along. So, in short – resign and let's move on.“
When asked if Delyan Peevski has sole control of the DPS, Ismailov answered:
„Have you seen the other co-chairman appearing somewhere, explaining? If we go back in time, we can say that Mr. Peevski was the spokesperson of the Denkov cabinet when there was a regular government. There's just no way any co-chairman, when he's co-chairman with Mr. Peevski, should have the opportunity. But I guess they appreciated that. It's like eating honey with a bear. Bottom line, it's metaphorical.“
On the reasons for the tension in the DPS, Orhan Ismailov thinks: “This is the battle between the honorary chairman and Mr. Peevski, who is who and to whom does the DPS belong. Everything else, the fact that there were swindlers, middlemen, these are reasons that cannot split the DPS. If we go back in time, if you remember at the beginning, Mr. Peevski had said that he would run for the chairmanship of the DPS, they asked if there would not be others, he said – everyone has a right from the members, but there will be one chairman. After that, Dogan came out with a message that there should have been a co-chairman, since there were such wishes. For one reason or another, this is the double signature to control. Even then I said that Mr. Peevski was not subject to control and would not comply and I said – and three co-chairmen to choose, the chairman who will prevail in DPS will be called Delyan Peevski. And so it happened. And now at the moment what is happening, in my opinion, is a mistake – The 17, which at the beginning were 14, I think they will become even more, as people make mistakes when voting, then repent, these processes are slow. They must participate. Here Mr. Peevski said today that he invited them, but in the end they didn't show up. And how to solve the problems? Escaping responsibility does not solve problems. So – it's not a problem, it's not a conflict, it's already declared war, metaphorically speaking, between the honorary chairman and Mr. Peevski. Yesterday, Peevski gave the move to the honorary chairman, said that he is on the move from now on. Unfortunately, when in a party the leaders are authoritarian, regardless of this, our parliamentary groups, our collective bodies can make decisions. They hope to save the day. And this role falls to Mr. Dogan.“
About Hamid Hamid's statements that the Dogan-Peevski relationship is much stronger than between father and son, and that the problem is between Peevski and the rascals in the party, Orhan Ismailov commented:
„ The Bulgarian people said it best - don't listen to what they say, but watch what they do. If so, why haven't they been photographed together until now to appease the passions of sympathizers and members, or else – why are these 17 boycotting and not participating? They had a meeting of the regional chairmen, today they had a PG, why are they not participating? And this already when a person turns – how much I love you, or we were like father and son, you were, and now what are you? Come out and say it. This is with last attempts and hope that Dogan and Peevski will sit down and understand each other. They don't have a mandate, they don't have free will, they are simply shackled to one or the other, when they speak, they don't know what to answer. They respect the honorary president so much, they love him so much, and yet they vote against his will. Is this love in your opinion or facade love or self-interested love? It was not by chance that they split into the authentic and fake Peev DPS. Things are in depth and the processes are just beginning. And today, what I understand, what Mr. Peevski says, that according to the statute, he is the chairman, he is legitimate, he was elected by the National Conference, he invites them, and why don't they go? There must be a debate, a polemic and from there on whatever the sword decides.“
