„I think that there should not be a referendum on these things – everyone who is against the EU should take their hat and go. The adoption of the euro is at the heart of the EU”.
This is what former Deputy Finance Minister Lyubomir Datsov told NOVA NEWS regarding the possibility of Bulgaria being admitted to the Eurozone next year.
Economist Georgi Vuldjev does not share this opinion. “The euro is becoming a major part of European integration, but this does not mean that the member countries themselves cannot criticize or express different opinions. I don't think that Bulgaria should leave the EU, but I think that the Eurozone in its current form has many economic problems and is not functioning well," Vuldzhev said, adding that before it is reformed, we cannot draw any advantages.< /p>
In response, Datsov said – “It's like looking for the perfect woman, you end up dying an old bachelor. The thesis of the perfection of the world around us is like looking for the perfect woman. You live with your mother, you go home to your parents' house, when you look back you see that your time has passed and you are a pensioner.
Vuljev defended himself by saying that he was not talking about perfection, but about obvious problems.
