In connection with the expected high temperatures and the announced yellow code for dangerous heat, today volunteers of the Capital Organization of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) will distribute free bottled mineral water water to citizens during the hot hours of the day from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This will take place in two places: NDK - at the entrance opposite “Vitosha“ and the subway exit; the kindergarten opposite Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski“.
This was announced by the BCH.
Mineral water is provided by “Devin“ EAD.
Volunteers of the Capital Organization of the BCHK distributed bottled mineral water on July 10. Earlier, there was an action in Sofia on June 20 and 21.
The BRC says that high temperatures increase fluid loss, and drinking water helps maintain the body's optimal hydration level, helps regulate body temperature, improves physical endurance, reduces fatigue and helps maintain concentration.
BRC reminds that high temperatures during the summer months can put everyone's health and life at risk. The elderly, the chronically ill and children are especially susceptible to this.
To protect yourself, avoid going outside during the hottest part of the day, and if going out is imperative, stay in the shade, wear a hat and light-colored clothing, use a high sun protection factor cream, and drink plenty of fluids. If you feel unwell, seek medical help immediately, the BCK advises.
