Rosen Zhelyazkov: I confirm that GERB will not support the third mandate - 1

On every topic that is hot for the country, the expertise in this National Assembly is big. The problem is that we cannot share the responsibility and this is our biggest deficit.

This is what the deputy from GERB and former speaker of the parliament Rosen Zhelyazkov told BNT.

"There is so much ego in the plenary hall that there is probably no specialized technique that can move it forward or keep it somewhere,", he commented.

Zhelyazkov confirmed again that GERB will not support the third mandate.

"The second term, as we understand it, ends on Monday. The political winner of the third term is obliged to try to do so. We will not support it. But if a government happens, we will work on the important topics. But without our support and without our participation," he said.

In his words, by offering a cabinet to the minority, GERB were ready to bear the political responsibility, but for Bulgaria to have a stable government. The National Assembly works when there is a regular cabinet, Rosen Zhelyazkov stressed.

He also commented that they have no ideological differences with PP-DB. "The difference is personal and in terms of stigmatization, not in terms of the way forward.

In his words, they have no obstacle to work together if they eliminate the fact that they don't like each other.

"Now we are going to the seventh parliamentary elections, with even lower legitimacy. And my only expectation is that we lead a relatively positive campaign, not how not to happen, but how to make governance happen. And let this be the occasion to start talking about principles, goals, programs, policies, and not talk about the negatives of one or another leader of a political force. This is the bet to make something happen without fear that if we go to shared governance it will erode trust. Trust is being eroded by mismanagement," Rosen Zhelyazkov said.

The deputy from GERB and former speaker of the parliament commented in "Panorama" and situation in the country because of the fires of the last days.

"Bulgarians always unite in the face of disaster and can do miracles. But there is an equally big drawback – he is not only in the state, he is in all of us. It's that when there's no trouble, we're overly optimistic, as if nothing can affect us," he said.
