What happened at the DPS headquarters is another attempt to measure forces. There is clearly a problem in the party that cannot be resolved so quickly.
This is what political scientist Prof. Milen Ljubenov said in the Euronews Primetime studio.
According to his words, according to the Statute of the DPS, the Central Council can make decisions, but to remove the chairmen of the party and to elect a new chairperson, it is necessary to convene the National Conference of the party. According to Lyubenov, this would create serious problems for the DPS, mainly because of the approaching early parliamentary elections regarding the party's registration with the Central Election Commission. There are many serious legal cases pending in the DPS, he also commented.
„Certainly, both Ahmed Dogan and Delyan Peevski are talking about the same oligarchic model of governance – both in the party and in the participation of DPS in governance in general in recent years. Now a very serious conflict arose, which was probably due to Peevski's overambition. This is at least one of the main reasons, but it puts at risk the functioning of the party in general”, Milen Ljubenov also noted.
