Nikolov: The judicial reform is used as a fig leaf to cover up the outrages in the state - 1

"A very large part of the changes in the Constitution are unconstitutional and harmful to society. Changes to the Basic Law will not lead to better development of the judicial system, will not lead to better quality and will not lead to more justice for citizens.

This was stated to BNT by Vladimir Nikolov, chairman of the Association of Prosecutors.

"Judicial reform is being used as a fig leaf to wreak havoc in the state. What will we do if the judicial reform ends", said Nikolov.

"In a country governed by the rule of law, everyone must trust the courts. The Constitutional Court must ensure that the adopted legislation is lawful," Nikolov pointed out.

In his words, the work on the specific cases should be improved - the criminal process, the criminal material law should be improved, so that the employees who work in the law enforcement sector can work more efficiently and better.

"The changes in the Constitution threaten the autonomy of the prosecutor's office," explained Vladimir Nikolov.

He also added that the Association of Prosecutors were misled, and now the masks have fallen with extreme arguments that the prosecutor's office should be placed under political control. The problems are there and the path must be different. The prosecution system must be protected and fine-tuned to make it work even better, he added.

"The prosecutor's office is developing, recovering, has healing powers, and it will be seen that this is on the rise," he also emphasized.
