Earlier today, the mayor of the municipality, Emil Iliev, told BTA that the fire was contained and the evacuated residents of the villages of Tsaparevo and Karpelevo are returning to their homes.
There are two more big fires on the territory of the municipality – in Senokos and on the Bulgarian-Greek border in Mount Slavyanka. The declared state of emergency in the municipality of Simitli is still in effect. The fire in Slavyanka mountain is still active, said this morning the regional governor of Blagoevgrad, Georgi Dinev.
