A woman was injured after an explosion and fire while driving a car, reported the press center of the police in Pernik.
The accident happened yesterday, around 5:15 p.m., on the “Struma“ after the third tunnel in the direction of Pernik. According to initial data, the 29-year-old woman was traveling with her car on the highway when she lit a cigarette.
As a result, an explosion and fire occurred, in which she received burns on her face and body.
Probable cause of the explosion is a gas leak as a result of a technical malfunction of the system. The victim was placed in a capital hospital without danger to her life.
Material damage was done to the car.
