The BSP meets at a plenum for the early elections - 1

The BSP plenum will decide on the participation in the regular early parliamentary elections for the 51st National assembly and will propose an option for a coalition of the great left unity. This is what Borislav Gutsanov, chairman of the parliamentary group of the "BSP for Bulgaria" said for BTA, in connection with the upcoming meeting at 11:00 a.m. today.

Gutsanov recalled that a memorandum was signed on July 26 in Stara Zagora, which is of serious importance for the future management of the state and for a fully united left space.

On July 27, we all climbed Buzludzha, together, something that had not happened in the last ten years, he commented. Gutsanov pointed out that after the BSP plenum, the finalization of the coalition agreement itself for the left-wing unification will take place, so that they can appear united in the upcoming elections. The BSP, the left, the parties in the left space, we are called to stop this process of disintegration of the state, he said.

When asked if he expects internal resistance regarding the decision to participate in the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections on October 20 in the format of a left-wing unification, Gutsanov said that there is a very good understanding between the members of the National Council.

He noted that apart from the fact that there was unity in Stara Zagora and Buzludzha, the resignation of Cornelia Ninova was accepted by a full majority. This course of unification first in the BSP, second - in the left space, and stopping this war with the institutions, is without an alternative, so I do not consider that there will be any points of conflict. Of course, there will be different opinions, but there is nothing wrong with that, added the chairman of the PG of the "BSP for Bulgaria".

I believe that next week we will be fully ready to collect signatures in the country for general participation in the elections, added Gutsanov.

When asked about a possible dispute about the BSP brand, given the appeals by Cornelia Ninova before the court in connection with her removal as chairman, Gutsanov commented that these are technical issues, which may also be emotional for some people, but will be allowed. The BSP is more than 130 years old, Gutsanov added, and stated that he expects the entry of the new leadership. After the resignation of Cornelia Ninova and the decision of the National Council of the party, Atanas Zafirov was temporarily elected acting chairman.
