BSP believes that President Rumen Radev should not veto the changes in the Law on preschool and school education, BNR reported.
The change adopted on Friday in two readings banned propaganda and the promotion in schools of ideas related to non-traditional sexual orientation. The chairman of the PG of "BSP for Bulgaria" Borislav Gutsanov explained.
"Our opinion is extremely clear. We even held a referendum on this topic. We thanked all the political parties who supported him. After we saw what a secular lion like Evgeni Minchev wrote, I think it was more than clear that society was waiting for such a vision.
Vice President Iliyana Yotova told BNT earlier that before there is a veto, the legal team of the Presidency must get acquainted with the changes. A dialogue is needed both at the expert and at the society level.
“Similar laws do not necessarily mean a restriction of rights,”, Yotova said. But she warned that the decision to protect rights with laws, in her words, “makes the bigger trouble”.
The reactions of the non-governmental sector are not unambiguous regarding the changes.
