Due to accidents and technical malfunctions in the diesel locomotives and the impossibility of immediately replacing them with serviceable machines, on August 22 there will be changes in the operation of the Rhodope narrow-gauge railway, reported the "Bulgarian State Railways" (BDZ), reported dariknews.bg.

Temporarily part of the trains on the Septemvri - Dobrinishte direction – September will not run, and passengers will be transported by buses. The state railway also sent a list of the trains that will be served by buses on Thursday: Passenger train No. 16221 (September 10:50 – Avramovo 13:43); Passenger train #16222 (September 14:05 – September 16:51); Passenger train #16101 (September 03:31 - Dobrinishte 08:22); Passenger train #16230 (Dobrinishte 08:40 - Razlog 09:05); Passenger train #16231 (Razlog 09:40 - Dobrinishte 10:05); Passenger train #16104 (Dobrinishte 10:25 - September 15:08); Passenger train #16105 (September 16:25 - Dobrinishte 21:15).

When troubleshooting the locomotives, the movement of all trains on the Septemvri line – Dobrinishte – September will be restored, BDZ added.

In June last year, the narrow gauge train crashed on the way from September to Velingrad. The cause then was a problem with the steam engine. In order not to wait, people were transported by bus.

The construction of the Septemvri-Dobrinishte narrow-gauge railway began in 1921 at the insistence of the Bulgarian Army and the Ministry of Forestry in order to defend these remote and soon-to-be-liberated Bulgarian territories, as well as to extract and transport the inexhaustible forest resource in the mountains, reports the website of BDZ. The project is by arch. Stoyan Mitov, and the implementation is assigned to the introduced year earlier Labor service.
