The crocodile, which was discovered in a pit in the capital's "Botunets" district, is being taken away for the benefit of the state. The reptile will remain in the metropolitan zoo. However, visitors still do not have access to the animal.
The Metropolitan Ecoinspection reported to BNT that the documents for ownership of the reptile were not submitted within the 10-day period specified by law. This gives the authorities a reason to initiate the procedure for confiscation of the predator in favor of the state.
A check by eco-inspectors showed serious discrepancies between the chip and the documents submitted by the people who raised the crocodile.
