The MEP Ilhan Kyuchuk submitted written questions to the European Commission in connection with information on mass and biased inspections of state bodies - Ministry of Internal Affairs (GDBOP), KPK , ADFI, NRA in municipalities governed by representatives of the DPS political party, in the homes and families of its members and activists.
Kyuchuk's position also states that these actions raise concerns about the abuse of power and the use of state institutions as a tool for pressure on the eve of early parliamentary elections. The MEP published on social networks the questions he addressed to the European Commission:
1. Is this suddenly intensified and targeted action by state authorities against representatives of a party known in the context of the European Commission's annual monitoring of the state of the rule of law?
2. What measures does the EC plan to take to ensure the immediate cessation of actions that clearly violate the basic principles of the rule of law and undermine the foundations of democracy in Bulgaria?
3. Will the EC ask for explanations from Bulgaria about what is happening and the signals of using the institutions as a political tool for repression?
