Peaceful march under the title “With Ukraine in the heart&rdquo ; was held this evening in Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas and Sofia. The event was dedicated to Ukrainian Independence Day, BNT reported.

33 years ago, in 1991, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine became an independent republic. Since the beginning of the war, more than 70 thousand Ukrainians have settled in our country, and in Plovdiv alone they number between 12 and 15 thousand people.

Dozens of them joined the procession, which passed along the main street of Plovdiv and ended in front of the municipality, where they all formed a chain of the Union.

The Ukrainian community also expressed its gratitude to the Bulgarian people for the hospitality and peace that hundreds of families have found here.

"Everything is fine, I love Bulgaria and I thank the people very much for supporting Ukrainians and Ukraine. We have to believe that the war will end, this year," Maria Mikeko hopes.

"I want to tell all compatriots and all Bulgarians who support Ukraine, to all people who know what it is like to fight for your independence. Together we can do more. Plovdiv, we really feel a huge support and this gives us great strength and inspiration to support Ukraine and fight for support for all the people who need it," said Nataliya Ellis – organizer.
